Team Teagan Update | 8-30
"Final Countdown", Now, that could apply to several things in our lives... End of summer, Days before school starts, shopping days before Christmas, but no. in our case it's the final hours before Teagan finishes her (hopefully) last round of Chemo. The last bag is hung, the discharge papers are already signed and most of her hospital luggage is already loaded in the car for the ride home early tomorrow (Friday) morning... So, after 80 something days at Club AMC, countless hours of walking the halls of D7 North pushing Teagan's chemo drip, 800 servings of cold chicken fingers and soggy fruit, the long sleepless nights on our "blue" pull-out sleeper we hope and pray we can keep her safe and home without that dreaded infection or fever.
We're so thankful for all the support, prayers and well wishes we've received over the last 8 months, and we could never have made it through this without them. We've learned and come to understand many new things about ourselves, our friends and family and especially our kids, Tyler, Tanner and Teagan.
My daughter, Teagan has become My Hero! Her strength, resolve and unending energy continues to surprise me, and gives me the confidence that she will be OK, today, tomorrow and for the rest of her life. She will continue to touch people in ways we can only imagine.
As we hopefully end this chapter of our lives, we continue to hope and pray for others who still have to endure the hardships of cancer or the many other life threatening illnesses of their children like little Adelaide, who after a stay at club AMC earlier this year, has, with her parents Tricia and Joe by her bed side, in the ICU of the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia since early August still fighting the effects of a dangerous cervical chord tumor and we humbly ask for you to include her, and her family in your thoughts and prayers as the doctors contemplate the impending surgery.
May God keep her safe and carefully guide the hands of the surgeons, as we have lost enough of our children this year!
