Team Teagan Update | 4-16
Well, I had to say it! As I was typing the last update pondered if I should temp fate and say she has not spiked a fever yet... but I did! And so did she! We woke Saturday Morning to Teagan not being very happy and a rapidly rising temperature. After a confirming call to Albany Med, we were told to bring her on down⦠So there they sit. Room D735⦠And she is NOT happy. She does not like being confined, connected to tubes and still hides her face when a new face wearing a lab coat enters the room⦠Unfortunately sheâs expected to be at AMC for 2-3 weeks, until her blood counts, which all have hit rock bottom, come back into a âsafeâ range.
I have a whole new respect for âsingleâ parents; I donât know how they possibly do it. Or is it just that my two boys are that much more âactiveâ. I donât think so!
It seems that now all the bedtime, dinner, and homework, what to wear, what not to wear, âthis shirt itchesâ, âwhy canât I play outside when itâs rainingâ, and the âall my friends canâ discussions have compounded. It seems they were much more defused when both Holly and I were home. The next 2-3 weeks should be interesting⦠Iâm reserving my padded room at Four Winds today! So, if you hear an echo or incoherent gibberish when you call, youâll know Iâve finally snapped. Nahh, weâll be fine, weâve managed to assemble a great support team over the last few weeks in our friends, neighbors and family. You may not know yet, but youâre on it! Donât be surprise if you get a last minute panic call from me or Holly⦠probably me, Holly seems to have it together much more than me.
Iâd like to thank those of you who braved the bad weather yesterday and traveled to St. Paulâs for the benefit breakfast. I was there briefly with the boys and enjoyed a fabulous meal and got to speak to several parents and friends. The turnout seemed great from what I could see, despite the bleak weather. Not sure about you, but Iâm certainly ready for Spring. Bring it ON!
. If youâre in the area of Albany Med, feel free to swing by and say Hi to Holly and Teagan (Room D735), or drop her a line at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , Iâm sure sheâd love to hear from you.
Just short and sweet today. Thanks again to all of you on Team Teagan, which still receives 3-4 new members each dayâ¦
Juergen
