Team Teagan Update | 3-28

Hello Team Teagan,

“ROUND TWO”,
The bags are packed, the sitters are line up (except Friday Night)… Teagan’s blood counts are at an elevated level.. Which is ideal for her to start this 2nd round of Chemo! We had what seemed our last supper at Red Robin last night, before we throw ourselves back into the confident and capable hands of the Doctors and Nurses at Albany Med. (I’m trying to pump them up so maybe this time we’ll have a slightly better journey… the power of “POSITIVE” thinking… ). As many of you know our last trip was ahhh slightly flawed…
We can only hope…

Teagan has really enjoyed this week at home with the boys and us. Our friend Don from Philly - the Owner of MSI Precision Instruments (PLUG), sent us a couple hospital grade wall mounted hand sanitizer which Tanner really enjoys… they make this noise just before it squirts the sanitizer - usually missing his hands and either hitting the wall or floor where Parker eagerly waits for what has become his “breath-saver” and boy does he needs it… At least the boys are getting in good habits to prepare for Teagan coming home next week with her blood counts at zero… If all goes well (and it will) they should be back home late Saturday, they will be home for a few days until Teagan yet again become “Neutropenic”. There’s that big word again… Unfortunately they already anticipate she’ll spike a fever and spend a week or back in the hospital. Where Holly and I (mostly Holly), will sleep in a poor excuse of a Chair / Bed…
At our last visit, in an attempt to calm Teagan one night, I climbed into the Crib next to her for a planned few minutes, being completely exhausted I closed my eyes to only awake shortly after to have a ½ dozen Doctors, Residents and Med Students on morning rounds (5:00am) standing all around the bed pondering how I managed to fit… I opened my eyes and fell out backwards trying to stand up… I’m sure that will be a conversation in their Med School class – “How NOT to scare the crap out of a Father sleeping in a Baby Crib 1.0.1” – Well they all had a chuckle…
Maybe people would get “better” faster if they were more comfortable…

If you are getting this email and you have NOT registered to become a “Team Member” at the Team Teagan Website – www.teamteagan.com, PLEASE do. It’s free, quick and easy, and it will help me in sending out these updates. By registering there I can better manage the growing list of names, because I often don’t have the complete list of names with me, due to the fact that I’m often sending these from home, the hospital or my laptop it gets hard to keep up. Everyone registered will get the messages, plus that way we know you actually want to get the updates and I’m not just contributing to your SPAM problem… Signing up does not expose you to anyone – except me, and I already have your address anyway… Just makes the list easier to handle.

So, wish us luck, keep us in your thoughts and prayers and keep reading.
