Team Teagan Update | 3-19

Hello Team Teagan,

Image"HELD OVER FOR ONE MORE DAY"... Because her overwhelming popularity at the AMC Children's Hospital, they have asked Teagan to perform for one more day (or maybe it's ME they want to have hang around??? Nah doubt it!). It seems the nurses and Staff just can't seem to get enough, so they will just come up with almost any excuse why she needs to stay a bit longer. Just so we don't cause a riot, work stoppage or general uprising in the "Peds" wing at AMC, we have agreed and plan to bring her home on Tuesday.

After the usual morning "Huddle", they sent a resident "sacrificial lamb" to test the explosive mood of a very strung-out Mom - (I suspect, they would have had a better reaction had they tried taking away her M&M's!!), to give her the news that they have slightly "altered" the course of action (again) - which was to do a Bone Marrow biopsy and secure the Double Lumen Hickman Catheter (Holly had to help me with that one!, I would have just called it "Tubes"). Anyways... it was decided that they would instead replace the "Tubes" with a "Port" - a catheter imbedded under the skin (Thanks Holly), which seems to be a much more "permanent" solution. But Requires "General" Anesthesia... So, off to surgery she went. At this point I'm looking to swipe a bottle of Horse Tranquilizer for Holly, to keep her from having serious flashbacks of a few weeks ago....

Teagan came out of surgery fine... she woke up and was a bit uncomfortable from yet again having some foreign object implanted... and having a chunk of her bone marrow taken from her hip... The good news thought is that her Heart rhythm is back in "Sinus Rhythm". No, that is not a new Mexican dance move, but rather a "Normal" heart Rhythm... Yippee!!!. Also Dr. Pierce, gave us preliminary results of the Bone Marrow Biopsy and indicated she only notice 3 out of the 500 blood cells that looked unusual... This indicates that the Leukemia Cells are already in remission... (BIG SMILE!!)

So, hopefully I will go to AMC in the morning and pick-up Holly and the very popular Teagan. Who's list of "Team Members" has grown to over 130 names... I also wanted to mention, that someone (can't remember who) had asked me a question about Hat Sizes for Teagan (due to the impending hair loss (sad face)), So, I asked Holly, and she indicated that she (Teagan not Holly) would wear a 12-Month Size (12-18 month)...

Teagan is scheduled to return to AMC on March 30th for her 2nd round of Chemo - which we pray will last only the "scheduled" week, and not become another marathon as this past month has been...

Among the many people who have helped us, I'd like to especially thank Lisa Larkin, who has done a great job setting me up with babysitters, meals on-the-go, and constant positive reassurances for Holly and I. As well as Julie Seavey, who came up from Philadelphia to stay at the house and take care of the boys, so I could spend as much time at the hospital as possible. Also thanks to all of you who have come to visit and support Teagan (and Holly), at AMC during this stay, we doubt we could have done this without your support now and in the future...

On another note, I managed to put together a Team Teagan / Klingenberg family website, to use as a place to post messages, photos, links and just stuff for everyone... www.teamteagan.com or www.theklingenbergs.com - both links go to the same place... I just completed the structure, and will be posting content over the next several nights... (as I have decided sleep is overrated)... Much of the personal information will be hidden and only viewable to registered members (the registration link is provide on the page)...

If you know of anyone (businesses or whatever) that are in need of a new web design or a "freshening" up of their exciting site, make sure you pass along my information... (a shameless plug for our business Hound Dog Graphics - www.hounddoggraphics.com)...

Thanks again to all of you,

Juergen, Holly and Kids
